Paint or illustrate a mythological Chinese fantasy creature. This creature is the loyal pet of the main character in a Chinese fantasy story. It should be powerful, threatening, and "cool," but at the same time, a "good" creature.

This illustration/painting will be used to create a high-resolution wallpaper to give out to fans of the story, so it must be colored and hi-res. Please design it to be able to be made into a variety of wallpapers of different resolutions and screen ratios. I would like the creature itself to take up roughly the lower right quadrant of the wallpaper, with some text added to other parts by me later. The ideal final product would feature a background stretching left and up that can be cropped at any point. The background can be anything that makes sense to you, as long as there is enough of it to cut the final version into different ratios.

This creature is fictional and was created by the author of the story, it is not a historical mythological creature. It has: the body of a horse, the head of a Chinese dragon, black reptilian scales covering most of its body, pangolin claws for feet, a crest of white hair running down its back, teeth which emanate a seven-colored light (please make this cool and not silly looking. if necessary, it can be left out), a long, sharp horn sticking out of its forehead, and purple flames spreading out from its feet. The horn is NOT a unicorn horn, it comes from a type of dragon, so please make sure it looks cool and like a weapon, definitely not unicorn-like. The creature grows older and more powerful through the story, please make this version a "young" version (but not a baby and not chibi/cute etc.). As far as the pose, I will leave that up to your imagination.

Please feel free to submit sketches to get feedback, but note that the final prize will only go to a completely colored illustration/painting. For this contest, I will wait until the final deadline before picking a winner. I won't pick the winner ahead of time.

  Nothing is wrong with it. However, three of the four legs are not visible, most of the other paintings feature all of the legs. A lot of the creature is basically hidden behind the foreground imagery.
