I need a high impact design for a print-quality book cover. It needs to be done in 300dpi resolution for a 6x9 book, according to the specs provided by CreateSpace (my printing house) @ https://www.createspace.com/Products/Book/CoverPDF.jsp

Color Scheme: purple and silver/gray

On that page on CreateSpace, you will find the bleed sizes, and they have templates available so you know where your boundaries are. As it describes on the page, I'll need a white block on the back cover toward the bottom right for the barcode.

Because of the number of pages, the spine will be blank (no text). Whether or not the design is a wraparound with the main graphics, or separate, I leave to your artistic hands. Calculate the spine width for am 85-page book, per the CreateSpace specs.

DESIGN DESCRIPTION
Title: Homosexuality and the Death of the Church

Front: A tombstone with the words etched "Here Lies The Church" and maybe a layer-mask or superimposed semi-transparent male couple holding hands (or possibly just seeing the hands, and not the whole couple).

I like how the "Here Lies..." is embossed onto the tombstone. This is how I'd like the tombstone to look. If it can look like it's in a graveyard, like on this example, that will be great.

Back: A boarded up abandoned church. It would be preferable not to have a pic of an old church from the 1800's; but if you can find one of a modern church that's boarded up, and maybe not even include the "gay" angle unless you can think of a way to make it work.

Also on the back, I need space in the top half for a blurb. The text will be forthcoming, but for now, lorem ipsum will work. I'm thinking a spot for my photo in the bottom half, either to the right or left of more dummy text, which will be my bio. For the bottom border, I'd like diverse hands raised in the air, as though in worship. You obviously can't distinguish between gay and straight hands, but at least various races of hands all raised together. If you can simulate a gay rainbow bracelet going across one or two of the wrists, that would be great, but not required.

  Sorry for delay.
  I had some troubles with insertion of images in the feedback message, so I put them on the image hosting.
  Here are two versions of the front cover - with changed angle of the tombstone and just with the changed tone of it's color.

  I also had placed the shadow behind the name - dark-colored letters look a bit strange and light-colored letters have low visibility, so there must be something like substrate or stroke I think.

I would like to better understand your angle before creating a design. Does your book imply homosexuality has killed the church, or that excluding homosexuals (or hatred toward them) has killed the church? Thank you.

  I would like for the cover to maintain some degree of ambiguity in relation to that; however, the point of the book (short version) is that the church's treatment of homosexuals (their cruelty toward them) has/will kill the church.

Regarding entry #1, this is a contest, not a project. I appreciate the demo, but you should develop a concept consistent with the specs for consideration. Thank you.
