For this contest pick one of the rock designs in the attached document. Create your own design in any of the 3 sizes, Large, X Large, or XX Large. Then render that design in all 6 textures/colors provided in the document.

Also must show positioning in an aquarium with dimensions of overall structure and any cave opening or basking platforms.

The winner will get the big project for $400.00, as well as become permanent designer for dozens of ongoing projects for new designs.

There is extensive examples and documentation attached. Choose one design and completing that one and we will let you know if you are on the right path to continue. We are available to answer all questions and provide feedback during the contest.

Here is the description of the big project that the winner will receive:

Create 12 aquarium rock decoration designs in the document. You will be responsible for creating the design and generating a 3d file which we will use for 3d printing. You do not need to slice the image or have it ready for the 3d printer. It just needs to be in a format we can do that later.

Each of the designs will need to be in 3 sizes, large, XL, and XXL and dimensions are provided. The design is identical just need to be scaled for the 3 dimensions.

The designs will also need to be rendered in 6 colors/rock textures.

Total Files will be 12 product designs x 3 sizes x 6 colors/textures.

Must also show an image of how the product will fit/look in an aquarium (example of this is provided in documentation).

*****There will be many more ongoing projects/designs in the future for the winner of the contest.****

Now that we are close to the end of the contest, It appears @SamirBenkhelil3d has given up as he has no responded to my last comments or submitted any additional entries. His submissions were very good and if he could perfect the final entry he had a possibility of winning the project.

Also @freemarkcasty91 has submitted some excellent work, and appears to be the frontrunner to win the contest. I am waiting on one more entry from him, but he is putting a lot of effort into winning this contest.

Update - There are no submissions yet that will win this contest. There are a couple of designers that have submitted work that show potential and could win if they submit a better design per the comments.

@freemarkcasty91 and @SamirBenkhelil3d are 4 stars for showing the ability to do what we are looking for. These submissions are the closest to designing a nice shape with a realistic texture in a few of the colors/textures from the document as well as providing the dimensions of the structure which is very important.

There are also a few 3 stars that could resubmit and rank higher.

Having said all that, there is still not a 5 star perfect structure/texture submission. But I think we are getting closer.

I recommend reading the comments on the other submissions as this well help you design what we are looking for.

Also, the budget for 12x3x6 seems to low for such 3d work. i can post one of the sample though for quality check .

  Remember, it's 12 designs (one of which is just an inverse for the opposite corner). The 3 sizes are identical just realized. So in reality,, it's 11 designs done in 6 colors.

I should also mention that your design should not look like the examples in the documents. They are just inspirational pictures. Also, most aquarists currently build their own rock structures from individual rocks. The ones in the photos in the document were built that way. If your design doesn't look natural, it won't win the contest. We are looking to make designs that look like/imitate the real ones. We will just make them in one solid piece.

  You can use any 3d software that will allow us to easily convert/use the file for 3d printing later. We are not worried about the tool you use.
