Resumen del concurso
Botswana Container Park
Please read brief attached, along with the space allocation and more info below. I have added pictures of other projects around the world on a similar scale; specifically Dubai Container Park.
This is the initial phase of 5 for the development of this project.
Once a general layout & look and feel has been acquired we will use you to go into more detail and draw up the interior layout plans etc.
What is required for now is a layout plan, along with a 3D model of the proposed designs.
Next phase is quoted at about $1000 should you win this contest.
Construction:
The construction is majority 6m and 12m containers. The specs are as follows:
6m container: 6mx2.4m = 15m2
12m container: 12mx2.4m = 30m2
Units can be welded together to make larger spaces and can be put on top of each other in any angle or shape.
The look sand feel needs to be unique, innovative and creative. Lighting and look is essential.
Space allocation:
40 000 - 50 000 square meters. Allow 7 000 square metres for the solar field worth 300 megawatt. The plan here is that remaining power would be sold or feed into to national grid. Also note that the 50 000 square meters should accommodate the 80 tenant mix inclusive of filing station.
To give an idea on the site plan, the Container Park would be constructed along the A1 road just after the Phakalane traffic lights with filing station and Auto Centre (comprising of restore and washing bay section) closer or facing the A1 road.
Like i did highlight in the write-up regarding 10 chalets for the hotel as a starting point. We would need additional space for future developments of chalets. Alternatively, you could go all out and propose a definite design of hotel within container park.
With regards to the parking lot, 800 parkings each floor for 2 floors.
Depending of the design the hotel will have its own parking lot (not covered) also there would be dispatch and loading bays.
Another aspect is the sizing by store. We can maybe play around with this allocating some 45m2, some 30m2 etc. Here lets diversify the stores from 15m2, 30m2 and 45m2 (especially the big retail shop)
Standard height for a four storey building. Please feel free to tap-in your expertise to come up with desirable height in accordance to the design
The newly built airport junction mall (built with normal stock bricks and mortar) costed around BWP 385 million of which our project will cost below this amount say BWP 250 million, stand to be corrected. The Container observation tower should be 100 metres.
I have attached great examples of other container parks from around the world.
In case there would be remaining space after all your proposed designs, we would use it for future extensions
Like i have mentioned above, i count on your expertise and in case what i have proposed is somehow not achievable please feel free to revert back to me.
Would love to have something unique and even greater than the examples we have shared in our communique. Arguably we are inspired by our tagline for the proposed development which reads;
Retail, Hospitality, Events and Health Experience Re-Defined
GOOD LUCK!
