Hi, The total requirement amounts to 360Wh. The charge controller cannot be connected to the Inverter directly (as shown in the figure) . it has to be connected via the battery unless its a constant DC load. The system has to be calculated for this number and the batteries for 3 days of autonomy. I can give a calculation of the procedure for each and the resultant block diagram. However I have to know the location of the system to be placed as I need the Total sun hours for the location. Based on that I will do the calculation. Cheers Thanks. Vinoth

My thesis project mostly about developing a tool to calculate the optimal battery size for renewable energy systems which is far more complex than your assignment. There are also plenty of projects related to renewable energy systems sizing I did in my previous companies. Besides of your primary tasks, I would also add some recommendations to design the optimal system for free! Hereby are the steps I would like to propose for your assignments: 1. Assess the load (electromagnetic flow meter) 2. Assess climate condition of the site 3. Assess client’s constraints (budget and area for solar panel installation) 4. Greetings, My name is Usman Khalid and I am electrical power engineer by profession. I have extensive experience in researching and consulting in the field of renewable energy systems especially in grid integrated solar PV power plant. Recently I have my paper accepted on topologies for large scale integration of renewable energy with the grid in IEEE I&CPS Conference held in Calgary, Canada. Besides, I have wide experience in providing consultancy on selection, design and commissioning of off grid and grid integrated solar PV plants for local industries here in Pakistan. One of my recent work is the preparation of technical and economic feasibility of 2.5 MW Grid Integrated solar PV power plant for the oil terminal station in which I performed equipment sizing and man power estimation along with economic calculation including payback period. Our work also include preparation of scope of work for performing conceptual anaylsis of a 1.5 MW solar PV power project at Willunga Southern Australia Some of our other projects include preparing total cost of ownership for different modes of power generation such as solar PV with batteries and designing of power converters for off grid solar PV system feeding the Electric Vehciles via DC link. I am specialized in renewable energy system such as sizing of appropriate battery banks, inverter sizing, solar PV panel sizing along with load and battery bank calculation.
