You should have decent experience in developing Windows services with C#.
Work description:
- Provide the XML request send by the application so the supplier can check whether the error message is caused by their API or not.
- Fix the error message, if it’s indeed caused by the application, so that new performances can again be created/updated by the application
Problem Description:
When the Windows Service runs, performances are not created/updated and the application generates the following error message:
[login to view URL]: The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. ---> [login to view URL]: The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element.
The error message occurred from one day to another while nothing changed to the application.
Response supplier ticketing software:
They haven’t changed their API and the maxBufferSize, maxBufferPoolSize and maxReceivedMessageSize in their API are set to higher values than the error message the application generates. They asked if I can provide the XML request send by the applicatoin, so they can check whether that causes the problem or not.
Short description of the application:
The application is a Windows service, developed in C#. Performances are extracted from the Event Management System using a stored procedure on the SQL Server. After that, the selection of performances is updated in the Ticketing System through an API. If a performance does not exist a new performance will be created in the Ticketing System.
Notes:
Source files of the application, a manual of the API, a Demo App you can use to test methods and a copy of my clients Event Management SQL database will be send to you when the job is assigned to you. If you need any more information from me to decide whether you are capable of doing the job or not, feel free to ask any questions.
I have now provided a log file with the error message generated by the application as well as an Excel sheet with a performance, so you can see what kind of data is export from the Event Management System into the Ticketing System.
Work needs to be started asap because currently my client doesn’t have a working ticketing link, so they cannot update or create new performances with it.

Hi
I can start ion this right away.
Looks like your service source code need to be updated to work around the issue you have.
(By increasing size of the messages your service allowed to get)
However the real problem could be in remote side.
I am sure I can fix it but I need source code of the service and access to test environment of remote system.
All the best
Alex
