We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to assist in all facets of our accounting department. This is a part-time, entry level position with favorable growth potential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgment and have: • Strong written and verbal communication • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities • Ensure accurate processing and recording of all payroll transactions • Preparation of bi-weekly payroll to be submitted to • Printing of checks for all clients and drop at the post office • Prepare payroll data and run reports, Cut checks, scan all documents and maintain filing • Review payroll reports and distribute paychecks • Distribute paychecks on a bi-weekly basis.

I have over 3 years of experience as a bookkeeper, in a small to midsize company, some of my main duties were handling invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll through quickbooks via desktop/online. In addition to my experience and personal qualities, I have a solid education foundation, which is a bachelors in finance from one of the top universities in Michigan. Even though I already completed my finance degree I only need one more class and I’ll have a double major in both accounting and finance.

 Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries.  Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.  Assist the Controller in the daily requirements.  Support the Head of Financial Accounting in management of the transaction process teams.  Support the Head of Financial Accounting in dealings with auditors (both internal and external) and other interested.  Provide analysis and advice to the Head of Financial Accounting on the potential implications of proposed changes in accounting rules / policies and legislation / government rules. This includes the “rules” around managing public money, the Government Financial Reporting Manual (FREM) and International Financial Reporting Standards.  Coordinates monthly closing process.  Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.  Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.  Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.  Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close.  Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.  Other financial management duties assigned by the Director of Finance.
