Digitizing and cataloging caterer_1 menu

We are a online caterer booking platform. The task is to convert the physical menu (soft copy) into a digital menu. We maintain a single universe of menu items across caterers , so around 60%-70% of the items in a menu would already been created in the universe. I will be posting more menu jobs in the coming days (around 150 menus in next 3 months) , this post is for only one menu. These are the high level steps to create a menu : 1) Add menu category as seen in the physical menu (Ex: Sweets, Starters etc) 2) Add menu items inside the category (Ex : Rasagula, Kajukatli etc) 3) If the item is not present in the universe, then create a new item by providing a name, description and image for the food item. (Only name will be available from the menu, description and image should be sourced from web search) Things to remember: 1) Exercise caution in creating new menu items , create only if it is absolutely necessary, below are few reasons why you do not want to create a new item a) English vs Local Language (Ex : Potato Chips vs Aloo Chips) - in this case use the existing item in the universe b) Qualified food items (Ex Bombay Jalebi vs Hot Bombay Jalebi) - in this case also please use the existing item in the universe 2) Please review the menu thoroughly and do not miss out on any items, if in doubt please note them and get it clarified with us 3) One menu will have somewhere around 150-300 menu items
