Remote Competition Economist Needed

Company Description: Vichag Economics, founded by economist Ramyank Chaganty, is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic economics and its real-world applications. This new, young organization offers applied economics training designed to help students gain a practical understanding of how economists work across consulting firms, government departments, central banks, think tanks, and policy institutions. The courses emphasize real-world case studies, hands-on analytical tools, and practical applications, covering topics like competition economics, macroeconomic forecasting, and public policy evaluation. In addition, the program fosters essential technical and professional skills, such as Excel modelling, data analysis, and effective economic writing, empowering students to enhance their employability and confidently navigate real-world economic challenges. Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Competition Economist. The role involves working with the founder to create case studies based on the person's experience. These case studies will be taught to students by the economist on the weekends when the course programmes are organised. Time commitment on the weekends will only be 2 hours. The aim is for this role to become a long-run relationship. **PLEASE APPLY IF YOU HAVE DIRECT EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN THE COMPETITION ECONOMICS SECTOR. E.G. COMPASS LEXECON; RBB ECONOMICS; FRONTIER ECONOMICS** Required: Extensive experience in competition economics, mergers, litigation and/or cartel analysis. Knowledge of the common methodologies undertaken by top consultancies in competition economics and litigation. Enthusiastic and collaborative attitude Passionate about showcasing own experience and enlightening students. Easily reachable and responsive when contacted by the Founder Need to be able to balance this role with any full time role
