Hi It's certainly a common concern of authors that their editors don't take away their voice - or weirdness, as you say! It's also something that, as a lecturer in Creative Writing, I work on with my students the most; developing a clear voice as an author. I believe that identity is the most important aspect of growing as a novelist.
