I want to either retrofit a Sureflap Cat Door to work on a larger dog door or construct a similar mechanism that can lock and/or unlock a dog door using a radio receiver or similar that can detect an RFID tag or similar on the pet collar (a tag that doesn't take batteries). Similar products on the market work poorly and have weak radio receivers or similar that can barely read anything at a distance of greater than 1 foot which is way to close for a large sized dog to stand to a dog door to make it open or unlock. I dunno what kind of expert could do this other than a machine guy or an electrical engineer.
