I need you to investigate the opportunity to diversify my organisation's business activity. In
order to do this you will draft a report that analyses the feasibility of entering the leisure yacht industry.
My organisation's aim is to provide budget entry 3 berth yachts, providing an alternative to the market
leader: Sunseeker.
Initial investigations have concluded that I could manufacture 5 yachts per month. This would require
employing a team of 15 staff with an average cost of emplyment of £45,000 each. The raw material cost per
yacht is £175,000 and my factories monthly running costs include; rent and rates of £10,000, utilities of
£1,000, insurance of £250, loan repayments of £1,500. You will need to determine what the selling cost per
yacht is and justify it through appropriate financial modelling (including project profit and loss, breakeven analysis and cash flow forecasting), marketing plans and SWOT analysis.
You may wish to develop a name/brand identity.
You are to provide a logically compiled and integrated market intelligence report, based on the above points.
