Logo Design and Initial Brand

Hi there! Ok so this is a project for our company called GeekLab. We need a logo that considers all application of dimension (ideally square but not essential). We also need an idea of brand to start with and if we like the direction, we will make that in to a separate project that we will pay the bidder for. GeekLab will be an umbrella company that will design, develop and discuss all things geeky: Web Design / Development, Video Game Design / Development, UX, UI, Social Media, Digital Media and of course there will be a blog. We need something that's generic in terms of market placement as it will house a multitude of services and products, and we'd like it to be bold but simple... Think Google Material Design when considering the logo. What we need are some examples of what springs to mind (can either be mood boards at this stage or we'll be especially happy if you mock up an initial logo concept). Once we've chosen the bidder, you'll work with us on fleshing out the logo and the brand guidelines. You'll also be required to mock up some website concepts but that's going to be a different project so don't worry too much about that. Once we're on the right track with the logo, we'll worry about the rest of the brand ourselves (voice, attitude, copy, marketing strategy etc - So you don't have to worry about that part). We like the idea of "geeky glasses" and something that symbolises a laboratory. We've come up with a few concepts ourselves but would love to see what you guys come up with without any influence as we may have got it all wrong ;) Any more details, please contact me but this brief is very loose to give you freedom for your ideas whilst you bid. We will need to see your ideas before considering a bid and all artwork must be handed to us in vector format once the project is finished.
