Hi there, I'm looking for some help in designing a leg tattoo.
It will be around my back left calf (and can go around other areas of my leg, no problem with it wrapping to the right and left side of my leg), and it's a Vancouver/Pacific Northwest tribute piece in black ink.
The idea was inspired after I was sent the attached photo of the man's legs up in the air with the view in front of him. I would like to spice up this view shown in the background, and remove the other aspects of the image.
At the bottom I would like to include an outline of the legs up in the air. I'm picturing this at the bottom of the tattoo in the foreground as though it's from the perspective of the person with the legs, and the scenery above/in front (background), with the legs slightly poking over and slightly overlapping the background scenery.
I would like the background scenery to consist of a few elements:
- Trees indigenous to the pacific northwest, and specifically British Columbia, with a range of dense forest and larger standout trees
- Mountains, specifically "the lions and "the two sisters" in the background - maybe on one or two having some white space/contrast showing snow on top
- Not entirely set on this, but A vancouver skyline consisting of things like the Harbour Centre and maybe Science World, perhaps lions gate bridge.
The kicker: It's going to be a cover-up. I currently have a fairly large peace sign in this space that I've had a few tattoo removal sessions on, so it's slightly faded. This new design does not have to only cover up the space of the tattoo, it could be larger, as long as it does an effective job of covering it up. My thoughts are the right creative work can use trees, the mountain ranges and the skyline to fill the black space.
If you search "pacific northwest" or "vancouver" tattoo on instagram, there's a good collection of images that have a similar vibe to what I'm looking for.
I'm not entirely set on the design and I would like to leave some creative room for what you think will make the tattoo look better.
