We’re looking for an awesome Rails dev who wants to join us for an on-going position helping us maintain our 3rd party integrations. The primary integration you will be helping to maintain and build new features on is for Workplace ([login to view URL]).
This position is flexible but we would like availability of at least 20+ hours/week in the beginning to get a good start and complete our initial wish list of features.
Our app, Recognize ([login to view URL]) is bringing positivity to the workplace through a modern recognition and rewards platform. We’re built on a core Rails stack and use all the latest frameworks and libraries where possible. We are also currently integrated with Yammer, Office 365, Google, and Slack.
The ideal dev will be well versed in git, Restful APIs, SSO, OAuth, CORS, websockets, asynchronous architectures, and have a solid understanding of Ruby and the Rails api.
Bonus skills would include experience with AWS, Microsoft Apis, and/or Facebook apis.
You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle and we encourage TDD where it makes sense(which is most places).
You’ll be working directly with Alex and Peter, the founders, who also built the entire platform. We strongly value communication, so regular progress updates are a must.
We will only accept billing via freelancer, please do not ask us to do otherwise.

3 years with RoR/ 11 years totally in Development.

- MVC for sure as a standard for RoR;
- Service Objects, great for complicated actions, especially when communicating with other API;
- Decorators/Presentors/Serializers.
4. Tell us about your experience with apis. Tell us about any of the following: What api's have you used and what libraries? Have you built any apis? What frameworks did you use to build them? What tools do you use to test apis?
Typically use RoR itself and Apipie for documentation.
