Raspberry Pi and Math

You have to have (1) Raspberry Pi (2) a simple motor Robot Car Chassisa with 2 wheels and 2 small motors (3) a simple H Bridge stepper motor controller.

The robot will be placed inside a working area, but this working area is to be flexibly defined, meaning that, the size and the shape of the working area may be changed. Thus you shall not assume the working area is fixed.

I am going to place lots of boundary sensors along the border of the working area, and you can image the virtual connections of the sensors will capture the shape and the geometry of the working area. pleaes note !!!, when i place the boundary sensors at the border of the working area, i do not know their coordinates --- I only place them at the border.

While the robot is moving inside the working area, the robot is able to detect "its distances" to these boundary sensors at any time. What I need from you is to come out an algorithm (a software code) to advise the robot to "walk" inside the working area, the "walk" shall cover all working area, the "walk" shall not overlap. What i want is very similar as the G code stuff in CNC machining, also very similar as nozzle moving in 3D printing. you need to command robot to walk smartly.

I shall add more
-- the robot shall "remember" the path it has walked through, if robot does not remember, the walking path will be overlapped alot
-- while the robot travels inside the working area, based on the robot's distances to boundary sensors, the robot shall also know its position inside the working area, and determine what places are not yet visited. if robot does not know what places are not yet visited, some splaces and spots will be missed.
-- i am hoping you have at least two or more walking algorithm, such as, (a) ZigZag parallel lines --- robot will walk one straight line at a time, after finish the walking of the first line, robot goes to the next paralle line, ... and all the lines cover the entire working area (b) contour-parallel walking path, robot starts walking along the border, then walk a small stepover toward inner area, then walk again to be parallel to previous walking path, walk a small stepover toward more inner area, then ... reapeat the step, until, robot finish the walking of entire working area, and for this option, the robot shall finish the walking at somewhere in the middle of the working area.
