Integrate Two Existing Android Apps Using Java/CPP(NDK)

Our Android application captures screenshots on rooted Android devices and uploads them to an ASP.NET website using RESTful web services. However, the screen capture mechanism of our existing application is error prone. We would like to upgrade the application by implementing GNU GPL Webkey into our existing application. Webkey contains a superior screen capture mechanism as well as other device/application monitoring features that would further enhance our application. The small project will proceed with a short proof-of-concept (POC) milestone that will include demonstrating the ability to build the Webkey open source ([login to view URL]), modify C/C++ code to capture screenshots as specified by our existing Android application, and modify the existing Android application (Java) to start running the existing background service based on new standard broadcast events which were not previously incorporated into the app. The build process will entail some modest adjustments to the existing Android activities (Java), reducing/scaling screenshot images (C/C++), and demonstrating that the images can still be uploaded to the existing web server. Finally, the project will close by handing-off the deliverables which will include a) the finished APK b) the project package (source) and c) documentation describing the source changes. The source code includes a large degree of C/C++ code and will need to be modified to suit the needs of the implementation. Modifications and improvements to the C/C++ codes will need to be done in such a way as to allow for easily integrating future versions of Webkey into the application. The application may require enhancements and additional projects in the future. We would like to consider the same developer for future projects provided the results of this project are satisfactory. Any experience with ASP.NET, C#.NET, or web services is also preferred because the app does upload to an IIS site. A conversion project for the website is also being planned for the near future. While the developer of this project will not be required to modify the existing IIS site, it will be required to continue to upload images to the existing IIS site.
