**MUD game server
** We want a a _Mud coder/builder_ for this project,
or a _C,C++ or Java programmer that can develop a Mud server_ from scratch.
The programmer will need experience programming network applications (or building and running a mud).
(Mud server is basically a text based game, played through internet using a simple telnet client).
The mud server will work on Linux, and if possible, on Windows XP, for testing purposes.
The mud server can use any standar mud driver, but it must be available very cheap or free and be available for commercial use (license) (ie: ColdC).
We want a mud server that can handle more than **1000** TCP/IP connections (online users), and about 10000 active items on the game world.
We will need help to compile, install and run the mud server.
We think the server machine can be a Linux server with P4 2GHz, 1G RAM, and a 10Mbits/s connection or around this specs.
The mud will have some standard mud commands (like login, say, tell, move from room to room), but most game commands will be developed from scratch (combat, use of items, etc),
so its needed help building the game system.
We are thinking about a project with around 3 months initial development (depents if we use an existing mud driver) and deployment, and about 6 more month extending the game commands, building the game rooms, etc.
This is a first approach so please tell us what do you think about effort and time needed, your ideas about these requirements, and detail your bids for the first initial development and the following months.
All info about the complete game and its commands will be available later to suitable bidders.
