plotter driver with 2 way communication

I need a plotter driver that will allow me to cummunicate with the plotter connected via a serial port.

We are trying to poll the plotter before and after every print job to make sure the job is going to a physical plotter and not to file.

Ideally we want to send the "OI" command and compare the result with what we've stored in our database.

We are currently trying to communicate with the plotter before and after every print job using a standard windows driver but the port is being tied up by the driver and intercepting the "OI" response.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

## Platform

This will be used on Win98, ME, and WinXP. We will be installing the drivers with an Active X cabinet with IE6+.
