The assignment deals with The Enigma (a rotor machine), a cipher or encryption method. The original data or text to encrypt is the input to the Enigma. After subsequent steps, the data will be encrypted and this will yield to the ciphertext or encrypted data.
You have to help with a computer program to decipher some messages which have been intercepted. You are given the entire ciphertext (which is the encrypted text), parts of the plaintext (which is the original text), and parts of the Enigma key. Your task is to determine the correct key and finally complete the plaintext by decoding the ciphertext.
