Database driven site

Due to our organization’s widespread base of volunteers and team members, the use of the Internet is critical to the management and communication of the organization. NCLO needs to develop a website that will have the following 4 components to support our team members: Database System -- The database would contain child specific information that can be accessed and updated by onsite team members around the world. Through a log in process, users would reach a page with links that are applicable to their permissions. Letter Routing System -- In the past, emailed letters from onsite team members (on behalf of the children in their programs) have been manually routed to the correct recipient (sponsor/pen pal). The proposed letter routing system would allow this task be automated while maintaining the privacy of contact information. Project Update System -- This system would allow onsite team members to complete a form that would generate a report that would be routed initially to management for approval and then posted to the website for controlled access. Sponsors (with the appropriate permission) would find a link to that update when they logged into the site. Photo Storage System -- This system would allow onsite team members to post photos of the children. By using a drop down (pre-filled) menu, the onsite team members would identify the children in each photo. Photos would be automatically resized for the web. Once posted, photos would then be accessible (by granted permissions) to users when they logged into the website. Overall General Considerations: *Individual levels of access depending on permissions *Allow for future expansion (additional database fields) *Query capable *Personalized main menus based upon login permissions *Security and protection of the data, including email addresses and children’s personal data is critical. *User friendly *Up and running (already through a thorough testing phase) by February 1st, 2006. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
