Machine translation interface

The program will enable users of Microsoft Word to use a machine translation service via XML/HTTP. Key challenges include maintaining formatting and creating a user friendly GUI. High quality code is more important than low price. We are open to suggestions when it comes to programming language. ## Deliverables The program will * extract one or more sentences from an open Microsoft Office document, using the Office API * send an XML request to a translation service over HTTP * replace the translated sentence(s) in the document, using the same formatting as the original. The user must be able to: 1) Type a use name and password for the service (which is password protected). This information should be stored over sessions. 2) Select language to translate from, and to 3) Translate either a) All of the document b) The selected (highlighted) part of the document c) The parts of the document which is marked as being in a particular language 4) Review and edit the translation suggestions from the translation service. During review, the original sentence must be displayed above the the (editable) translation suggestion. In addition, warnings from the service must be displayed. Edited translations must both * be stored locally and used as a cache in case the exact same sentence occurs later in the document, and * be sent back to the translation service via XML/HTTP
