A little update here. I believe that what I need is to be able to query port 139 for the NetBIOS info I need. Does anyone know how to do this? ----------------------------------------------- I apologize for the confusion. Originally I had said that I want to get the NetBIOS name and Group Name just like Angry IP Scanner ([login to view URL]) but I thought talking about nbtstat would be easier since it seems to do the same thing. For some reason, many have just assumed I want to parse the output of nbtstat. I can do that easily myself. I want to use an API to get this same info. So I do *not* want to just parse nbtstat. Anyone can do that. And it doesn't need to be a console app. ---------------------------------------------------- Simply I want to get some of the info this DOS commands outputs in NT: nbtstat -A [YourIPAddressHere] For example, it may return something like this: NetBIOS Remote Machine Name Table Name Type Status --------------------------------------------- DAVEY-CS4U3B1JZ<00> UNIQUE Registered WORKGROUP <00> GROUP Registered DAVEY-CS4U3B1JZ<20> UNIQUE Registered WORKGROUP <1E> GROUP Registered DAVEY-CS4U3B1JZ<03> UNIQUE Registered DAVID <03> UNIQUE Registered MAC Address = 41-23-42-11-78-77 I ONLY need the name column of first and second lines: DAVEY-CS4U3B1JZ (This is the NetBIOS name of the computer) WORKGROUP (This is the group of which the computer is joined) I don't need the MAC Address or anything else. Please complete within a few days of acceptance.
