The tool I need simply does this: it lets me enter one or more terms (up to say 100), and based on those terms the tool fetches the top 10 MSN search results, and the top 10 MSN news results in RSS format.
(Here you can find info about how that is done: <[login to view URL]>)
Now I need this text modified. First of all, I want all of the results to go through a Search/Replace (that can handle replacing something with nothing), and some of the returned strings removed totally. The Search/Replace needs to be dynamic in the way that I can add and remove pairs of things to search and replace.
The search results also need to be bundled together into two paragraphs: instead of the search results being 10 seperate paragraphs, I want one paragraph, and the same with the 10 news results. Basically, a lot of row-breaks need to be removed.
Now that the data has been fetched and cleaned up, I want it to be easily accessible. I dont know what is the easiest way to do this: perhaps by displaying a list of links that correspond to the initial list of terms I entered, and let that link go to a new page where the two paragraphs are displayed in clear text, ready to be copy/pasted into other programs.
Somehow, I would like this data to be stored as well for later use. Probably, when the program is initiated, I would have to choose if I want to create new data or use old data, and when I create new data I could be forced to give it a name, which would be used (together with a date) to display the old data in the "use old data" section.
I have a dedicated Linux server, and I dont care at all what technology is used to create this code. Oh, I would like to have the whole thing password protected.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
The server will be a linux server, and the program needs to run solely on WXP and IE. If it doesnt work on other platforms, I do not care.
