Build database driven e-commerce business website.

I’m looking for a web developer to help me create a minimum viable product for an e-commerce responsive web app. I have a very rudimentary mockup on my computer I can share as a proof of concept to discuss more in depth if this project sounds interesting. See basic description of my concept below the bullet points. The ideal candidate has experience with the following: • Creating database driven e-commerce websites. I’m personally familiar with PHP but open to alternatives as well. I’ve used Laravel for a few projects and really like the developer community and support. • Building apps with common CRUD operations. For instance, the web app will need to allow users to create an account, input relevant profile info, add preferred payment method, contact info, etc. • Ability to integrate payment processing for recurring billing. • You don’t have to be a “designer” by any means, but at least having a familiarity with modern responsive website trends, common design features and associated frameworks such as bootstrap a big plus. Again, I’m open to various CSS frameworks if you know one really well and like using it. I’m more concerned about getting the backend architecture up and running first and can easily tweak the frontend as the project progresses. • Familiarity with persistence mechanisms such as cookies and session variables. • Familiarity with creating secure web apps. Best practices for protecting against SQL injection, malicious file uploads, and other common exploits. Web app proof of concept Problem the web app aims to solve: - Remembering to send gifts to friends, family, significant others is often done last minute due to the number of things we all juggle on a daily basis with work, family life, etc. It’s common that we rush out the day of or day before to go grab a gift to give someone on their birthday, anniversary or similar. Sometimes we just downright forget. Solution: - Our site aims to solve this problem by allowing users to create an account where they add people they would like to send recurring gifts to. The most obvious recurring events would be birthdays and anniversaries but I’m sure other use cases will be created along the way as well. Once a user creates and verifies their account, they will be allowed to add a person to their account and specify the date that they want their gift to arrive to the recipients address by. For instance, a Grandmother might add her granddaughter or grandson and would enter some basic details about her grandchildren to help aid in the gift selection process. The user will need to fill out a short profile on the person they would like to send a recurring gift to so that our team of “shoppers” will be able to have a good understanding of what types of gifts would be a good fit. For instance, what’s your budget, what are their interests, what are their dislikes, etc. - I’d like to use a Gig Economy model, where people can signup for free and apply to become a “shopper”. Once approved, the shoppers will have access to their own profile within which they will have access to an active job board of gifts that need to be purchased. It will be their job to source the gifts and ship them to the intended recipient to ensure the deadline is met of when the gift should arrive.
