Hi all, I'm looking for someone to help make a program for my dissertation. I've got some source code to start with but need help getting it finished from someone. I would like the final product uploaded online for people to access there. I have tried explaining this short and sweet but this seems to leave a lot of people confused. As Freelancer only allows 4000 characters, you really should refer to the same post I've made here: [login to view URL] and here: [login to view URL] The following post is a version of these that has been cut short. If it has interested you by the time you get to the end of this explanation, please refer to one of the links above. Two concepts are important before I explain the rationale behind this study: 1) A tesseract is a ‘fourth-dimensional cube’. An explanation for this is lengthy in text and I couldn’t do it better than Carl Sagan, who you can watch explaining it here: [login to view URL] People aren’t sure if anyone can really imagine the fourth dimension, but the ‘shadow’ of a tesseract can be shown in the 3rd dimension (which is the one we live in). This shadow makes a very strange 3D shape, similar to the shadow of a transparent cube. When ‘rotating’ in the fourth dimension, this shape makes some very weird transformations in the 3rd Dimension. 2) Cognitive Psychologists often test for ‘Spatial Reasoning’ and ‘Visualisation’ abilities using tests of the imagination like Mental Rotation tests (https://psychlopedia.wikispaces.com/mental+rotation), and Mental Transformation tests (I will be using this one: [login to view URL]) Description of program: What I have decided to do is to create a mental rotation and transformation test using a tesseract. For reference I’m using the tesseract program seen here: [login to view URL], although others are available that you might find easier to use. A 6 Phase program is being created to assess this test of mental imagery: .... 2) Then the participant is moved on to what I call the ‘Pre-testing’ phase. This features a series of mental imagery tests (most of which I will provide but one or two of which I may, or may not, need help creating), and two ‘matching to premade image’ tasks. Before each test there will be some instructions. There are 5 tests (there may also be a 6th test, if I can make it) that will be presented in a random order to each participant. I expect that 3 or 4 trials of each test (e.g. 3 instances of the mental transformation test, 3 instances of the mental rotation test) will be sufficient. a. The ‘Mental Imagery’ tests consist of 2 images next to each other, which the user must then decide are either the same object, or different objects (refer to links above). This will be done by them pressing one of two keys that indicate either ‘same’ or ‘different’, upon which a new test is presented after a 2 second delay. The images used in these tests I will create and hand over to you. I will need the reaction time recorded for this, to the millisecond or less if possible, as well as some record of the image they were looking at. Note that one of these tests will be on the mental transformation of a tesseract, and is perhaps the most important piece of all of this. These may be made via screenshots of the program, although a random computer generated one would be better (up for negotiation). b. The ‘matching to sample image’ tasks are slightly different. There are two of these tasks. Here, I will ask participants to rotate a cube, or a tesseract, along a series of axes, with the aim of making it match a computer generated cube or tesseract next to it. ....
