Streaming Video Website

We are looking for a developer with Kodi experience to build a proof of concept.

Basically we are looking to perform a movie or TV show search, establish a connection to a streaming server, and play the video file through html 5 streaming player and/or Flash (depending upon the video file format). This is not a Kodi Add On. This will be a website that uses the same search and streaming servers as Kodi.

There are only 3 steps required in the POC. No design is necessary. If you have experience building streaming AddOns in Kodi then you are familiar with the functions and this should be an easy task for you to complete:

1) search for movie/TV titles;

a. Make a simple search form in a web browser to search or scrape the same online databases Kodi uses (IMDb, TMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, etc). More information about the scraper is available here: [login to view URL]:Universal_Movie_Scraper

b. Show results of the search in a web browser (Chrome). Here’s a link to the TMDB API as an example of returned data results for Movies Currently Playing in Theaters: [login to view URL]

2) Return a list of servers that contain the video file just like Kodi does when a user selects a movie to play.

a. This can be a simple list of available servers that when clicked will begin streaming the video in the Chrome browser. The Proof on Concept must establish a connection to a minimum of 3 servers. Connection information can be found in URLResolver Addon code and the server addon code in the URLResolver/plugins folder. These two files contain all the code necessary to obtain the file except for authentication. I don’t know where that comes from or how authentication is handled. Hoping you do. If not, you’ll need to figure that part out.

3) Connect to the server to steam the file through html 5 or Flash player in Chrome.

We have a budget for this POC. It is very important you can complete the POC within budget and on time. Once the POC is finished/tested we will move into a full development period to complete a version 1 build. Show us you can build the POC and we will also contract with you for further development. We have budget for hundreds of hours of development for the version 1 application. This is a serious project with serious deadlines and investors that expect results. Please only respond if you have experience creating Kodi addons for streaming movies and/or TV shows.

Important you must feel confidant you can build a streaming video website using the search and connection information within the Kodi addon files (Genesis, URLResolver, etc.) to create a similar product in HTML, C#, Javascript or Python using django if you prefer. We are completely open to the coding language but feel Python and Django are probably the best solution for this POC.
