By providing direction, the Payroll Manager is able to assist the payroll staff regarding all payroll processes, this helps ensure the Payroll department operations are running efficiently. The manager coordinates the workload of the Payroll department and monitors staff workload based on input from individual specialists. The Payroll Manager gives recommendations to the Director of Payroll for final decisions on actual adjustments to workload. These tasks include the responsibility of processing a share of payroll related activities. Under the general direction of the Director of Payroll, the Payroll Manager coordinates, performs and supervises all activities necessary to process payrolls, this includes: maintaining related records, tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for senior management. The Payroll Manager leads a team of 3 to 4 Payroll Coordinators and/or Specialists. This person must have well-developed verbal and writing skills which are required to consult with management, and employees, regulatory and outside agencies.

I (Faryal Shahabuddin) have completed my MS in Management Sciences from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Sciences and Technology (SZABIST)- Karachi, Pakistan and Master of Business Administration from the University of Karachi, Pakistan. Further, as per South Australian Overseas Qualification Recognition facility, my MS is equivalent to Australian Masters and my MBA is equivalent to Australian Bachelors. In addition, I have more than 8 years of experience in initiating, managing and completing numerous diverse research and quality assurance projects. Further, my contribution in department’s projects involved preparing, coordinating, evaluating and submitting various Self-Assessment Reports to the internal and external stakeholders. In addition, conducting various research analyses and reporting the findings to the Senior Management for policy amendments thus, improving future academic operations. Moreover, I have developed a framework for writing, compiling and editing SZABIST Publications for better outreach and brand recognition. Also, I was an integral part for maintaining close relations with the higher education regulatory bodies and achieving accreditation for programs from National Councils. In addition, have been involved in training direct reporting staff, cross functional staff and counter parts of other universities under capacity-building projects. The trainings were planned and conducted as per the requirements of the current and future projects.

To Whom it May Concern, I believe I would be a perfect fit for this position for a number of reasons: I have recently obtained my LLB from Cairo University's Faculty of Law -English Section. Having spent my formative years in the States, I command a native level fluency in both written and spoken English. I have experience in sales in the technology industry, as well as previous experience managing a team of 10-15 people for a firm that specializes in the production of audiobooks on topics relevant to the business sector. I have worked in corporate law and as a researcher in academia. During my time in university, I held various positions in the Cairo International Model United Nations, namely as president of the International Court of Justice, a position which allowed me to hone what I believe to be stellar interpersonal and public speaking skills. I am looking for a long-term position at a firm that will give me room to learn and grow. My hours are extremely flexible, and can be tailored to fit the needs of the company.
