Google Script for API access

I need your help with Google Scripting. My car has a datalogger that I can access via a web interface, but the interface has authentication (user/pw). I tried to create a Google Script to 'login' into the page but alas it is not my specialty, i think part of my issue is that the login redirected to another internal page. I want to access this site and access the API : [login to view URL] Then, I want the data to be copied into a Google Drive spreadsheet (probably using the IMPORTHTML function?) and have it refresh every 15 minutes. I will then run an IFTTT task based on the value of some parameters. Can you help?
