We want to develop a printer device driver, that sends the content that about to be printed to a central server. This will be a windows device driver only, and will need some level of caching, since internet / network may not always be available. We should be able to configure the device driver to only send data that is of a particular size, and also filter by source dll/exe. This device driver will be installed as admin / root by the windows administrator.

Hello, I have built a similar virtual printer driver however based on my experience the drivers needs to be built for a specific 32/64 bit platform. Also the driver usually converts the source print stream into the information for the printer. The Windows print system is complex and usually the full driver is not needed. There are many other ways to intercept the print stream and redirect it into a different destination. From the description it is not clear what kind of data needs to be sent. Is the source a text, graphic bitmap or something else. There are solutions but a this point I need more information to prepare a better proposal. If you are interested I am available to discuss.
