ABOUT US We're not your normal landscape design studio because we don’t actually “design” as such. We help others improve their designs by transforming them into beautiful 3D sales presentations that they can impress their clients with. Our customers are landscape contractors who design and build high value residential landscapes (gardens, front and backyards) with swimming pools, water features and outdoor kitchens. They’re small business owners who don't have the time, skills or resources to create 3D presentations themselves and look to us to help them do so in order to improve their service offering and win more work. We use base information provided by our customers including sketch plan drawings, site photos and other supporting documents to interpret what they’re trying to achieve and then prepare professional CAD drawings and 3D models of their designs for them. It’s a little like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle; there’s room for your own creativity and always a lot of satisfaction in seeing how the finished product looks as it comes to life! ----------------------------------------------------------- We are currently looking for a motivated AutoCAD assistant who is detail oriented and passionate about digital drawings to join our team and help us deliver this innovative service to a growing customer base across the world. ------------------------------------------------------------- THE ROLE This is an internet or "virtual" position. As an AutoCAD draftsperson you will support our 3D Landscape Designer by managing the 2D aspects of every project we do, creating base plans and concept plan drawings that will accompany each 3D presentation. You’ll first need to read and interpret all of the information provided by the customer to get an understanding of the project as a whole and then create a base plan of the design with each element arranged neatly on different layers. Once it’s ready you’ll pass the dwg file to the 3D Landscape Designer who will model the design in 3D. One of the great things about this role is that you will learn about landscape design and construction because you’ll be able to visualise each project and see how it comes together via the imagery shared with you by our 3D Landscape Designer. Referring to the screenshots of the model shared with you by the 3D Landscape designer, you’ll then use our drawing template, already set up with correctly scaled line types, blocks, hatches and colours to prepare the plan. Most drawings are not technically complicated and they are conceptual, so you won’t need to prepare detailed working drawings or specifications but you will need to know how landscape projects are designed and constructed. The workload for this position will fluctuate depending on demand and that demand is steadily increasing, so it's safe to say we're a growing operation and can continue to feed work to the right person. PAYMENT Payment is on a per project basis. In line with the policy we have with our customers, you’ll be paid a generous rate for each project you do and receive payment upfront on the expectation that you will prioritize our project and deliver it by the agreed deadline. >>In other words, when the job comes in you'll need to get it done asap and you'll be paid well for it<< TO BE ELIGIBLE YOU MUST • Be proficient in and enjoy using AutoCAD to create landscape drawings. • Have around 2 years of experience working as a landscape designer or as a draftsperson for a landscaper designer or landscape architect. • Have good knowledge of different planting types, styles and functions • Have good knowledge of landscape materials, typical formats of pavers, timber decking, retaining walls etc. • Have excellent English communication skills both written and spoken TO APPLY Please send your CV, examples of landscape designs you've worked on (including an AutoCAD dwg and a cover letter explaining why you're the right person for this job.
