Hello!
What you really need is to explore the capabilities of Microsoft BI platform.
A typical analysis process with Microsoft BI is divided into several parts:
- first, IT guys use SSIS build automatic data extraction and loading into data warehouse (that is, a special SQL Server database)
- second, data analytics build the data model using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) tabular mode. At this stage all the data relaionships are introduced in the model. The output of the model is a collection of related tables (like an OLAP cube, but it's not an OLAP cube).
- finally, a business analytic (non-IT guy) connects to the SSAS data model, and builds queries, reports, dashboards using mouse drag-and-drop tool either directly in Excel or using modern PowerBI or PowerView add-on for SharePoint (if you use SharePoint in your company).
I can use your real data to create a data warehouse and some models, sample reports and dashboards, so you will be able to realize how easy it is for non-IT guys.
