Fashion project- A step into the past
In this project, I was asked to choose a specific potential customer to create a style which is not only new but also individualized. The girl in the pictures is a model I choose myself. She’s a 22year old innocent, introvert, shy and tender girl who always wears casual clothes like t-shirt, shirts, jeans and flat shoes and like antique things. I decided to design her outfits with inspiration from the 1950s style that is suitable for her individual character. All clothing is in light colours and simple, easy, comfortable to wear as well as easy to mix with others. Woolen fabric, khaki, thin linen are suitable materials. The fabric folds are the highlights for my design. They help me to create new material based on normal fabrics.

Bui Thuy An is a freelance fashion/beauty illustrator. Her style is dreamily glamorous and feminine. She creatively captures different perspectives of women’s beauty and fashion designs in a sensual way, blurring the borderline between tradition and digital by subtly combining pencil, watercolor and ink with digital techniques to create unique artwork with her own personal touch. Bui Thuy An was born and grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam, where she attended professional art classes from the age of 13 and never stopped drawing ever since. Later in life, she earned a Bachelor degree in Fashion Design from the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, Vietnam’s leading art school. Her background in fashion design provides the experience for working in this field as well as invaluable skills in illustration and textile print design.
