Recently worked on a D365 Finance & Operations OneBox setup where everything looked correct — VM, SQL, AOS — but provisioning kept failing with:

“Login failed for user ‘axdbadmin’”

What made it interesting:
✔ SQL login worked perfectly
✔ Services were running
✔ Environment was deployed correctly

But the issue wasn’t SQL or Azure.

? It was an internal application state mismatch (encrypted DB credentials vs actual password)

This is where many implementations lose time — repeating fixes instead of isolating layers.

Instead of forcing patch fixes, we:

* Identified the exact failure layer
* Avoided unnecessary VM cost
* Recommended clean and stable path forward

? Key takeaway:
Most D365 OneBox issues are not infrastructure problems — they are configuration/state issues.
