Joel Louis Varjassy has actively been involved in the music and visual scene since age 17. In 2008 he received a certificate for the completion of "Digital Music", an online course offered at [login to view URL]. In 2010, he enrolled in the Digital Audio Art program at the University of Lethbridge which allowed him to expand his knowledge in both the audio and visual world. Being self-taught on many aspects of his career has given him the discipline and understanding of this artistic and competitive business. Learning how to mix records, play piano, build studio gear, create 3D models, master After Effects, and photograph are just a few of his achievements over the years. In 2011, Louis Studios was created in effort to bring forth all of his creative ideas under one name and apply them to other peoples projects. He plans to continue his studies in audio/visual as well as continue to grow Louis Studios into a creative workforce.
Mainly working as a mixing engineer for clients around the world, he also spends time working with local artists, family, and friends. In 2010 he was an assistant engineer on Shawni Shimbashi's EP entitled "Shawni Shimbashi" and in 2011 he recorded/mixed her single "If You Say I Do". In 2012/2013 he was a boom operate, dialog editor, foley artist, and assistant mixer for the feature film, "Common Chord". Aside from audio, Joel continues to explore other interests on a daily basis such as 3D animation, motion graphics, design, VFX, and photography. Starting in 2010, be began learning the art of motion graphics through the use of a popular programmes such as Adobe After Effects and LightWave 3D. Learning these programmes has opened up many doors for future projects. Photography has always been another interest of Joel's, but it wasn't until 2011 where he began taking it serious and is always on the lookout for the next perfect shot. To this day he strives to constantly learn new techniques and apply them in ways never seen before. Both Joel Louis Varjassy and Louis Studios look forward to what 2013 has to offer.
