Travel Safety Protocols for Employees

1. Employees using Self-Driven Motor vehicles to work
1.1 Before You Drive
a) Ask yourself if you can get your work done without driving. Can you reduce risks by using Company Transport if available for your route or using public transport? Can you be a member of Car pool?
b) Are you well-rested, alert and confident to reach your destination?
c) Is the seat, mirrors and headrest adjusted for you? Do a pre-trip inspection to confirm everything is working properly. Is the maintenance up to date? If you don’t think the vehicle is up to the trip, talk to your supervisor.
1.2 While you Drive
a) Wear your seatbelt.
b) If you are carrying any fellow passengers, ensure that you don’t cross the prescribed vehicle seating capacity.
c) Also ensure all fellow passengers are using seat belts
d) Take a break from driving at least once every two hours. Stretch your legs. Have a quick walk. Rehydrate
e) Don’t use a cell phone or adjust the GPS while driving
f) Don’t try to cross a waterlogged area where the road is not visible.
g) Follow all the traffic rules and ensure you driving within the speed limits.
1.3 After You Drive
a) Report any vehicle damage or required maintenance.
b) Share information about unsafe routes or things to watch out for so your colleagues don’t encounter the same problems.

2. Employees using Company provided Motor Vehicle /Bus to Work
2.1 Please ensure if the vehicle you are travelling is safe. Report any safety related issue with the vehicle to the HR Dept.
2.2. Please wear safety belt if it is provided
2.3 Ensure that there is no overloading of the seating capacity in the vehicle
2.4 Please carry your ID card while travelling for safety and security reasons.
2.5 Please be on time at your pick-up point
2.6 Please disembark the Bus only after it has completely halted at the designated stop.
2.7 Please report to HR Dept. in case of any violation of traffic rules by the driver

3. Employees using Self-driven Two Wheeler to work
3.1 Use Two Wheelers only if there is no Company Transport/ public transport available for your route. Avoid using Two wheelers in the night by opting to stay in the Company provided Bachelor colony while in Night shift.
3.2 Ensure your two wheeler is in good running condition.
3.3 Pillion rider cannot be more than one
3.5 Both the Rider and Pillion Rider should compulsorily wear ISI mark helmets
3.6 Make your two wheeler visible by sticking bright coloured reflective banks on your helmet
3.7 Avoid using your two wheeler in bad weather conditions like heavy rains
3.8 Use all safety rules while riding and ride within the speed limits
3.9 Using Two Wheeler for any official work should be strictly prohibited.
