Ok, so there are a lot of submissions. That's great, but nothing has stood out. Thew great thing is that you have all helped to develop the vision more.
I have extended the contest and raised the reward a little.

While smoking a cigar I decided I like the simple rectangular shape of the word YAMBU and the circle around this in the centre - it reminds me of a cigar seal. I have attached example.gif - DO NOT USE THIS FONT AS A GUIDE. DO NOT.

The purpose of this example is to show you how I want the logo design to fit into this type of frame, or rather, incorporate this type of frame in the logo design.

DO NOT put the word cafe in it. DO NOT put a coffee cup in it. these will be rejected

bueno, ojala ya leyeron esto en ingles. la cosa es que extendi este concurso por que todavia no hay algo que de verdad me gusta.
Lo que no quiero es una tazita de cafe! lo que si quiero es solo el nombre del local - YAMBU - en un marco como de un sello de tabaco. miren al example.gif que subi. Ojala pueden ver los logos donde les di 5 * y 4* - eso es la onda, no van a usar ariel, times new roman o cualquier otro font porfavor.
Y bueno pues, palante nomas.

Hi! We are opening a latin cafe that is all about amazing food, good coffee, fun vibes where people will learn to dance, a venue for music and culture and above all else an excellent experience and break from the boring drone that a city gives.

We need a logo! Something simple, just the name of the cafe:
YAMBU

Ideas that I have are based more on Old Havana, or any colonial/historical plaza's of central and south america. I like vintage baseball team 'fonts' and other old, bold EASY TO READ 'fonts'/logo's

This logo will be used on the shop front, on the coffee cups, on our shirts, napkins, online, social media - on everything.

We must have all the original files and will work with them/change them as we see fit. If an .ai for eg, I even want the file to be nice and tidy on layers, not everything on one hard to use layer.

I wont upload example files because I don't really want 'copy paste' designs. Please send through any questions and I'll happily answer them.

I have just attached some example pictures of more what i am after and the colours im using. I havent got the time right now to get the codes of the exact colour - but you get the idea from the color swatches i used for the paint. Bright yellow is the principle colour this covers a good 80% of the interior (it is called daffodil) and the deep red (chocolate cherry). The royal blue colour is used on feature walls and doors, then there is also white here and there.

“Good quality work, no doubt about that. Extremely pushy and blamed me for not being able to finalise the hand over - even thought this was done within 24 hours. After talking to support staff it was clear that it was Tanusri's error that this could not continue. Again, very pushy and unapologetic. Quite rude and condescending.
