Resumen del concurso

----This is paused, please do not work on it for the time being, please no additional submissions ----

I need a new cartoon character, similar to Bob The Builder, with 10 variations of the character.
1. Create a cartoonish character “Blockbuilder” somewhat similar to Bob The Builder, clearly different enough not to violate any copyright. Rather stylized and not particularly realistic, CGI not necessary.
2. Create 10 variations of the “Blockbuilder”.
a. One of the variations should have a subtitle, e.g. inscription on a pedestal “Yes, We Can!”
b. One of the variations should show the Blockbuilder with a hammer in his hand
c. One of the variations should show the Blockbuilder with a screwdriver in his hand
d. One of the variations should show the Blockbuilder with a cartoonish excavator
e. The other 6 variations can be simple variations, i.e. “Blockbuilder” with moustache, pearced ear, different cap, different skin color. https://solsea.io/c/62fe0b8b149dbc580a350be4 shows an example of a gallery of one character with many variations, except that I do not want variations of an ape, but variations of a character similar to Bob The Builder
3. Color scheme should be somewhat compatible with RGB 148;175;103 and RGB 243; 119;72. The cartoon character does not need to use those exact colors, but it should not look awkward when used in the proximity of these colors.
4. Output should be a png with resolution at least 800x800px and with transparent background, so that I can easily insert the Blockbuilder character on any background. Additional vector graphics is optional but would be a plus.
5. Please note: The output will be used for illustration purposes only, potentially on a website as well. It will not become an NFT collection, so unfortunately, there is no big money or chance for royalties…
6. You transfer all rights on the use of the cartoon character to me (after my payment). I.e. you are not entitled to use it yourself or to sell it or give it to other clients after my payment. But: More variations of the character may be required in the future, so there is potential for future business for you.

@Mark M.: Thank you for your comment. Good points! I change the description.
The new character should differ enough from Bob The Builder so that it does not matter if it refers to the original version or the newer version. Though I might prefer the style of the original version a bit. We shorten the catch phrase to "Yes, We Can!", which should not be a trademark violation after B. Obama.
I will consider your proposal regarding price next week.

Appreciated, thank you. And, yes - the modified catchphrase shouldn't be a problem. You can't copyright an idea - only its specific form and trademarks.

JK Rowling for example wasn't the first author to write a book about a kid with magical powers who goes to a special school for wizards and witches - there are several kids books before this all using the same idea - but she did create Harry Potter, Hogwarts and all the characters associated with that world - so, yourself creating a kids cartoon character about a builder who fixes things really isn't a problem, only the specific things that infringe any other content creators copyright.

For example, does your builder character have to be white or, for that matter, a man...?

Good question. Both would be okay. However, one variation with an excavator would be good. Together with an excavator, a half body picture might be a bit difficult (unless you put him on the driver seat?).
On the other hand, half body is probably easier for you. Then this might be the better option. We might do without the excavator-variation in that case. Not my preferred option, but maybe more realistic.
In a nutshell: Up to you. Both options have pros and cons.
