Hi, I need someone to build a Database that I can use to add products to and then export those products and product information as various different CSV files. A product will have various options, variables and inputs. e.g. Input for Product Name Input for Product Description Dropdown for New or Used product Dropdown to select from multiple brands Automatically create a product Ref e.g. mp0001, mp0002, mp0003 etc. Dropdown for product category Input area for custom fields, e.g. this product will suit model numbers 100, 110, 220, 330 etc Input for image name e.g. [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] Input for Stock Quantity Input for Price Input for Weight Input for Size The Database will then need to export specific information from this as a csv, e.g. 1 CSV file will contain Category,image,Brand,description,price,reference Currently we use excel but it is easy to make mistakes and I believe a database form will simplify this and prevent accidental mistakes. The excel file uses a lot of the Concatenate Function to generate the csv format but I'm not sure how Microsoft Access will use this function or do this task. Good knowledge of Excel functions and MS Access is required for this project but with the correct knowledge and experience of this it should be easy to setup. I can provide the excel currently used but it is proving difficult to expand it further with new brands etc. Thank you to any bidders and hope I can find a suitable freelancer with the skill to complete.

Hello. I have worked with both excel and ms access and all kinds of databases. My suggestion is to use ms access -or even mysql which is free and faster- and create a simple user interface so you can manipulate the data. So you won't work directly with the database -which can cause errors etc- but from inside a custom program which will do what you need, with dropdowns, export, print etc. The program will be fully customizable, we can add features or make changes anytime. This way you will work faster and safer. Message me if you need to discuss this further.

Hi! I have over 15 years of professional experience working with Excel, Access, VBA (macros / automation), and SQL; as well as a strong background in retail and extensive experience working with retail data and systems. I would love to take a look at your existing sheet, if the major driver for change is error rate it may be possible to deliver the change in a more cost effective way by adding data validation which would significantly reduce errors (in which case I would also revise my bid!). However, if there are further needs which can be met by access (e.g. you may wish to convert to a relational data model to more easily say add multiple images to a single product) I am more than capable of carrying this out for you (in addition to expert level technical skills, I am degree qualified in database design and development, and am a business analyst so am adept at scoping requirements). Dear Sir/Madam, I can provide the required application using Ms Access. My previous clients have mainly been Pharmaceuticals and Food supplements manufacturers in the UK (outside of Freelancer.com) who used excel and ended up in a situation like your after growth. I would like to obtain a sample of the current Excel file that you are using. The database that i would develop would allow you to upload the pictures or you have a link to pictures. Concatenate functions are straight forward in Ms Access and i am confident to deliver the requirements in around a weeks time. Tip: You do not need an access software license as you can download the free Ms Access run-time version, if you do not plan to make design changes to the Access database. Option: I can possibly develop the requirement as a web based application using a rapid, low code application builder that i use. The applications will have all the functionality that you have stated but with the additional futures such user logins and can be worked using a smart phone, tablet or computer. The application would be hosted locally on your premises on a computer and you would pay no further subscription or loyalty fees (or you can host on a webserver if you wish for the additional costs).
