I am a highly experienced writer, editor and proofreader who works on books, magazines, newspapers, newsletters and academic theses, including a doctorate in economics. I work meticulously and fast in both UK and US English, ensuring good grammar and syntax while retaining the writer's authentic "voice". I would love to do this project as I am very interested in history in general and World War II in particular. My father and an uncle were awarded the Military Medal for bravery (British). My father and his twin brother were captured at Tobruk in North Africa by General Irwin Rommel's forces and spent time in Italian prisoner of war camps. I have letters my father wrote to his mother from there! He and his brother both escaped. Another uncle, also a South African, was awarded the US Bronze Star while serving under US command against German forces occupying parts of Italy after that country's surrender. WW II history is very much alive to me and I read as much about it as I can. It was an astonishing period in history during which many brave people suffered and died but others also triumphed over huge adversity.
