Resolve [text to number] conversion issue on input control

I am setting the input type number with value from my angularjs controller. The value is in text, e.g. "1.50" or "1.00". The workaround would be to use the parseFloat function and set the value of my input type number. However doing so would display the value as 1.5 or 1 instead of 1.50 or 1.00. Meaning that the trailing zeros are truncated. The other workaround would be to use parseFloat along with the toFixed function to ensure that the trailing zeros are maintained. However I would have to change the input type from number to text which is not desirable in my case. Your task is to fix this issue while maintaining the input type as number.
