435814 Modify Perl Script

I need to add a subroutine to a perl script which will check the days of the week, and depending on which day it is, another subroutine will be called. For example:

if weekday eq Monday

....do this

elseif weekday eq Tuesday

....do this

else

....do this

Please only reply if you have experience with perl.
