Restore functionality to my word press website

I hired someone to change the template on my wordpress website but there have been a few problems, the coder has given up and I'm not sure how to fix them.
From the admin page I am able to change the text on the pages but that is about all the functionality I now have.
The ability to add new pages, change the layout and, most importantly, update my blog have all been lost.
I don't know if it's an easy fix or whether the process of updating the site needs to be started again but I need someone to get my wordpress website up and running again in the next 48hrs.
