Create iCal Feed from JSON Array

We have a JSON feed of events and are looking to convert it into an iCal feed.
It should processed JSON -> PHP -> iCal feed. (We are looking to later re-use the functionality with a PHP array on our Wordpress site.)
We want this completed as quickly as possible, with clean code.
In your proposal let us know:
1.) How the downloaded iCal feed will automatically update to match the updated JSON feed.
2.) How frequently this syncing will occur.
