Build a Website

I am in the process of populating an excel spreadsheet with information, ultimately perhaps 5000 database entries with 8 columns that define some of the key features of each database entry (for example, a dating website might define 5000 people by age, sex, hair colour, hobbies and whether they like animals or not). I want people to come to my website and effectively search my database, by entering a selection of the eight criteria that are important to them (continuing the dating website example, someone looking for a male aged 25 to 35 that likes sky diving and also hates animals). The website would then present the relevant data that meets the criteria in a table on the website (i.e. all 25-30 year old men that like sky diving and hate animals), with some additional information about each of the chosen people that also happens to be held in the database. In addition to this more simple criteria search, I would also like a location search feature, as each entry in my database would have a UK postcode, and one of the search criteria needs to be distance from a postcode entered by the user (e.g. if someone wanted to find males aged 25 to 35 that live within 20 miles of GL7 3PP - a UK postcode). Preferably Google maps as the map website. The website is a not for profit thing, a hobby for me only. I want attractive but very simple website design, and an efficient and functional operation is more important. I tried doing this myself on Wix, so have basic website design done, and will give more specific requirements as to what I need when I appoint someone to do the job. Wix was easy enough to construct a couple of pages, but did not know how to connect the database and set up the search feature to search that database. The Wix site I have done has a contact form for people to contact me with suggestions on updating the information. Do not want any ads or marketing or sales channels at this stage. No need for people to register or login to use the website at this stage. I will do all of the data entry. I would need the flexibility to constantly add to and amend the database spreadsheet in excel and for those changes when made by me to be automatically updated within the website. Would need a company to host the website I guess and therefore also want to understand the monthly charges for the suggested hosting. I want to be able to manage the website myself once set up rather than speak to an expert every time I might want to make a change. If the website gets any interest, I may come back for some programming assistance to add additional features, but at this stage I just want what I have outlined here.
