I've been working as a research hydrogeologist since 1990. Various international projects I've participated in include: - site selection and characterization for the Finnish nuclear waste program - the Äspö Hard Rock Laboratory, Sweden - remediation projects in Hungary I've been confronted with several tasks, like development of numerical models, programming, algorithm design, teaching, translation, field work, simulations of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, as well as heat transfer with in-house developed and commercial codes, sensitivity analyses, model calibration with the Ensemble Kalman Filter, generating finite element meshes and stochastic random fields, parallelization /w MPI and OpenMP. I'm strong in Fortran & C, good in Java, C++ & octave. I did GIS-related work and calculated sound propagation outdoors when working for an environmental association for 11 years. I speak English, Finnish and Hungarian fluently, whilst my German, Russian and Italian are on B1.
