Editor and Project Manager w/lots of leadership and initiative

Job overview: We’re looking for an editor to manage the complete guest writing system for our site/app. Job Description: a. Will be in charge of recruiting new writers to our writer team (writers are unpaid but are compensated with author byline and link) b. Draft recruitment posts that will be posted in our app on a regular basis c. Collect application forms from interested writers and send them information to submit articles d. Review and evaluate submitted articles. Decide which articles to publish, revise title, edit article, and provide feedback to writer if necessary. Final approval for articles will depend on site/app owner. e. Publish article on our website/app f. Keep schedule of articles to be published g. Decide which writers will be extended an invite to join writer team h. Handle all communications from interested writers and from writer team members i. Find images for articles h. Work with site/app owners to draft article guidelines i. Manage writer team, drop inactive writers j. Create and manage new outreach activities to recruit more writers across a variety of topics h. Will start with publishing roughly 5 articles per week but try to grow to 20 articles a week. Initially looking for someone to spend 5 to 10 hours a week, but with flexibility to grow in hours as position grows. About our site/app and what we’re looking for: We have a women’s health & lifestyle app used by millions of women around the world. We will be adding articles in our app as well as launching a new website. We are looking for someone to oversee the launch of our new content publishing efforts. This will be an exciting and challenging position. Provider must be super responsible, have great leadership and problem-solving skills. Provider will work with minimal guidance and support from us, so provider must be comfortable with that. Also, we’re not looking for someone just to maintain a guest writer system. We’re looking for someone who will expand and make our guest writer system and articles some of the best in the world.
