Lead 2D Game Artist

Company Profile Robin Hood Web Services, a Division of Robin Hood Technology, [login to view URL] , is a web development company that specializes in web-site design, strategy, consulting and programming. One of the current projects is a massive multiplayer online game (MMOG) WorldAlpha, [login to view URL] , along with the minigame WorldAlpha Sniper, [login to view URL] . We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead 2D Game Artist to create, direct and manage graphic assets for this project. The position is a full-time contract for 3 months. Applicants must be within commuting distance of Milton, Ontario and are expected to work at our office at least 2 times a week. Responsibilities - a Lead Artist to help define the overall look and feel of WorldAlpha - oversight of the creation of all graphics assets including 2D, 3D and video - creating art assets that drive the visual identity and user interface of the game - creation of icons and maps for WorldAlpha - conceptualization and creation of concept art for WorldAlpha - design of website images and pages for game Required Experience - Quick sketching, concept and storyboarding experience - Ability to communicate visually, and to identify and define visual design issues and solutions - Excellent design skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting and composition - Art creation including icons, maps, concept art, and web-ready images - Passionate about games and virtual worlds - Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation - Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and ask for help - Ability to work in a team environment - Fluent in English - Be able to allocate 30 to 40 hours/week of focused time - Ability to commute to Milton at least 3 times per week - Bachelor’s degree in an art-related discipline is preferred Required Technical Experience (3+ years practical experience) Must Have: 3+ years practical experience Photoshop Illustrator Game Design & User Interface Suggested: HTML/CSS Video Editing & Trailer Creation Animation Flash
