I have a need for a very simple tool for personal use. The goal is to scrape a certain set of data from the website [login to view URL] *Briefing* As a user of the tool I want to be able to select 1) a competition (eg the english Premier League), 2) a season and (optional) 3) a range of playing rounds (alternatively as a default it can take all the data from that season, including of the current season) Then after selecting above parameters, I want the tool to scrape the data below for each match within the search parameters (eg a certain season of a certain competition) and mail them to me in excel format (or csv/google sheets if that's easier), with the following layout: - column 1: playing round - column 2: date - column 3: time - column 4: home team - column 5: away team - column 6: goals scored by home team - column 7: goals scored by away team - column 8: Home team total shots - column 9: Home team shots on target - column 10: Home team penalties taken - column 11: Home team % shots from within 6 yards box - column 12: Home team % shots from within 18 yards box - column 13: Home team % shots from outside 18 yards box - column 14: Away team total shots - column 15: Away team shots on target - column 16: Away team penalties taken - column 17: Away team % shots from within 6 yards box - column 18: Away team % shots from within 18 yards box - column 19: Away team % shots from outside 18 yards box Where to find above data points on [login to view URL]: - competitions: can be found on homepage just below menu bar - season: just below competitions block after you’ve clicked on a certain competition - time, date, home team, away team, score: displayed per playing round - shots + shots on target: after clicking match report for a certain match under the block: team match statistics - penalties taken: under block situational report, tab ‘attempt types’ - %shots from areas: under block positional report, tab ‘shot zones’ Please note: this tool is for personal use so it should be as simple as possible, no design effort, nothing fancy.
