Cross-browser stylesheet issue

I have a Joomla 1.5 installation where I am attempting to replace the stock search functionality with an improved Search component called jXFinder. Here is the site: [url removed, login to view] The component is functioning great... the improved search results are available by clicking a link in the top-most menu and searching there. But due to a strange padding issue, I'm unable to replace the existing search box with the improved version. Due to network security issues, I'm unable to provide direct access to our site - so this may make completing this task too difficult, but what I need is someone to help place the new jxFinder searchbox in the same place as the existing searchbox in my template so that it functions properly.
